As a Hunter Valley wedding photographer, I recently had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful celebration at Shepherds Corner in Woodville, NSW. This venue, nestled just outside Maitland, offers a unique blend of historic charm and rural serenity. The 1860s sandstone chapel and character-filled timber hall provide a picturesque backdrop for any wedding day.
The Ceremony: A Blend of History and Nature
The couple chose to exchange vows inside the historic sandstone chapel, its gothic architecture adding timeless elegance to the ceremony. Surrounded by open farmland, this setting gave us incredible light and natural backdrops for capturing heartfelt moments that felt both intimate and grand.
The Reception: Celebrating Under the Stars
After the ceremony, guests moved to the timber hall and spacious undercover deck for the reception. The space comfortably hosted 120 guests with room for dining, dancing, and heartfelt speeches. Soft lighting and rustic wood textures made the atmosphere warm, relaxed, and perfect for storytelling through photos.
